Scoop-supported reporter wins the CEI SEEMO Award for Outstanding Merits
Romanian journalist Adrian Mogos wins the CEI SEEMO Award for Outstanding Merits in Investigative Journalism 2010. One of the investigations he has carried which was supported by Scoop is "The Fields of Terror" about the new slavery in the heart of Europe. Read more here.
Scoop-supported Gold-mine-investigation recieves award
Scoop-supported reporter Nevena Panayotova, Bulgaria, has just received the James Bourchier Special Award for Journalistic Excellence for her part of an investigation on gold mining forcing people to leave their homes. Read more here.
Scoop-supported Investigation recieves the Global Shining Light Award again!
The journalists Irina Codrean, Vitalie Calugareanu, Vlad Lavrov, Dumitru Lazur and Stefan Candea recieved the Global shining light award 2010 for their work at the Global Investigative Journalism conference. The Scoop-supported reporters have exposed how the Moldovan president Vladimir Voronin and his family use their political power to become rich as well. Read more here.

Albanian reported awarded for Outstanding Merits in Investigative Journalism
The Central European Initiative (CEI) and the South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO) has announced that the young investigative journalist Besar Likmeta from Albania is the winner of the CEI/SEEMO Award for Outstanding Merits in Investigative Journalism. Read more here.
Two Ukrainians awarded
Larisa Artemenko won the first prize in the category 'regional press' and Igor Chaika came in second in the category 'national TV'. Ms Artemenko was awarded for her story about misuse of local budget funds in favour to the local elite of the city Kremenchuk and Mr Chaika for a TV-documentary about the corrupted mayor of Lviv - one of Ukraines largest cities. Second award for exposure of dirty election tricks in Moldova
Transparency International Moldova chose to award the two repporters Lilia Gurez and Igor Volnitchi for their investigation on the fraud in the election campaign in Moldova. Read more here.
Exposure of election fraud i Moldova awarded
Lilia Gurez and Igor Volnitchi -supported by Scoop - were awarded by the Eurasia Foundation Moldova for their investigation of the election campaign in Moldova named 'Moldova - Polygon for Testing 'Dirty' Electoral Techniques'. Read more here.
Prize to Scoop-supported documentary
The jury at the International TV Festival Bar in Montenegro decided to give a Silver Olive to the Scoop supported documentary Dario Novalic and Mustafa Mustafic, “If you are watching this mum”. The documentary describes the faith of Bosnian children sent to Italy during the war. Read more here.
Special mention to Scoop-coordinator
Scoop-coordinator Stefan Candea (Romania) who is responsible for Moldovan and transnational investigations received a special mention in recognition of his valuable contribution to investigative journalism from the Central European Initiative (CEI) and the South East Europe Media Organisation (SEEMO). Prize for Macedonian investigation
A Scoop-supported story on Intellectual Property violation has won the third prize by Skopje-based Macedonian Media Institute (MMI). "The Kingdom of Pirates", an investigation by Bardhyl Zaimi and Urim Hasipi on IP-violation, was carried out in three parts by Fakti, leading Macedonian daily newspaper, in August 2008. Zaimi is a freelance reporter, while Hasipi is a reporter for dayli newspaper Koha and editor for Koha television. Sixty-seven print or broadcast reports were taking part in the competition for the annual awards on best investigative prices, which have given annually by MMI since 2001. Read more here.

2 Scoop-supported investigations awarded
Two SCOOP-supported projects have won prizes awarded by the Skopje-based Macedonian Media Institute for investigative journalism. One investigation was about corruptive dealings of the main religious organizations in Macedonia. Another dealt with traffic of false passports and visas in Albania, Macedonia and Bulgaria as a way to access EU countries. Read more here.
Prize for investigation on illegal routes
The research Illegal routes and passing points in western Balkans, made by Macedonian journalist Aleksandar Pisarev financed by SCOOP has been awarded as best investigative journalism story in 2007 by association of journalists of Macedonia (ZNM). The story is about the network of routes that are being used for trafficking of various goods, drugs, gasoline and emigrants. Read more here.
Revealing of cigarette smuggling receives prize
An investigation on systematic smuggling cigarettes supported by Scoop has recently won the National Competition as the best investigative reporting piece covering corruption in 2007 in local press in Ukraine. The story reveals how Romanian customs officers at the checkpoint Siret discovered the largest shipment of smuggled cigarettes for more than five years: 900 boxes – that amounts to 447.000 packages! The cigarettes came from Ukraine and had a market value in Romania of app. 400.000 EUR! Read more here.
Investigations on trafficked visas gets first prize
A team of Romanian-Moldovian reporters did an investigation on trafficking visas and exposed high-ranking officials within the Romanian Ministry for Foreign Affairs has now been awarded the first prize by The Asociatia Presei. Read more here.

Global Shining Light award to Scoop reporters
A team of journalists funded by Scoop and others have won the first Global Shining Light award, which was presented at the Global Journalism Conference in Toronto/Canada May 26th 2007. Read more here.
Exceptionnal work recognized
Macedonian journalists Jordanka Ivanovska and Zaklina Gjorgjevik from the daily newspapers the Dnevnik and the Utrinski Vesnik were lauded for their "exceptional work" by the award committe of the Macedonian Institute for Media. Read more here.

Trandsdnjstr - Europe's Black Whole gives 1st prize
A series of articles about Transdnjstr by Stefan Candea and his team won the first price at a national journalistic contest by the Moldovan Independent Press Association. Read the story here.
Liquid explosives easy to make got prize
The story “ Liquid explosives sit on bathroom shelves - or easy to make, hard to detect ” from Serbia was awarded the annual prize for best investigative radio piece. Read the story here.
2004
Miracle machine-story awarded
The story about a miracle machine that supposedly could cure diseases made headlines in Ukraine. In August of 2004 it won the award granted by the Ukrainian Publishers for best investigative journalism in Ukraine 2004. The work was supported by a Scoop grant. Click here to read the investigation.

Revealing of Child Porno got first prize
An investigation about Child Pornography Studio in Slovo won the prize for Best journalistic investigation in regional press in the The First Professional Competition for Printed Press conducted by the Ukrainian National Publishers Association (now UAPP - Ukrainian Association of Press Publishers) supported by the Embassy of the USA to Ukraine. Child slavery story recieved prize
In the autumn of 2004 Scoop coordinator Stefan Candea of the Romanian Centre for Investigative Journalism in Bukarest/Romania won an award for his articles about Child Slavery granted by the United Nations Agencies. Read the story here.
Revealing of election corruption paid off
In the autumn of 2003 journalists Stanimir Vaglenov and Kristina Krasteva fromdaily newspaper 24 Hours/24 casa in Sofia/Bulgaria wrote about corruption in connection with the Bulgarian local elections. This gave them an award from a Bulgarian anti-corruption NGO. Read the story here.
